It was my Squirt's birthday last week (He's 11! Ah! Next year he'll be getting the Priesthood!). So in the spirit of my previous posts, I've decided to do the traditional...
10 Things I LOVE About My Squirt!
1)I love that he is my "Squirt". I trained him when he was 2 to answer to this name ONLY when I call him by it. And it worked! No one else is allowed to call him that, he just ignores it unless I say it. He calls me his Squirt too. I LOVE HIM!!
2) I love how he playes with his fingers and "mini-malls" (as my father calls it) when he gets excited. If you've seen him do it, you know what I'm talking about. He holds his hands just below his chin and moves them excitedly with a huge anticipating grin on his face.
3) I love that he loves food and wants to be a chef. He's willing to try anything I make. It's great to have a food buddy!
4) I love how much he loves animals. He's the best with his pets, both Jazmine and Willy (his guinea pig). He's so happy and friendly with them and takes such good care of them.
5) I love how great his imagination is. Sometimes I walk by his room and can hear him making up wild stories and situations for whatever he's playing. The kid is so creative!
6) I LOVE his humor. My little Squirt is absolutely HILARIOUS. Couple examples: When he was about 5, we were sitting at the dinner table eating roast and potatoes. During a lull in the conversation, he says with a straight face "They're called potatoes... hellooo?" Hhahaha! (I hope you all got that - A Knight's Tale!). Then this year, he was in my parents room with everyone when he said "I see you like to look. How 'bout you look AT MY ABS!" (Kung Fu Panda!) and tore his shirt! Hhahahahahh! Ah, this kid is so stinking funny!
7) I love how tough he is. He works so hard to keep up with his older brother and us sisters - and he'll often kick our trash! Like when we were hiking Little Wildhorse Canyon. This kid was sooo sick, but there was no way he was gonna miss out on it. And he did so good!!
8) I love how he is so sweet. He's such a cuddler, he'll hold onto my hand when we go grocery shopping, and is so gentle. I told him he's not allowed to change as he gets older. So far, he's kept that promise. :)
9) I love how smart he is! This kid is brilliant, in everything from technology (he understands computers and nintendo so much better than me!), to writing (you should read this "Persuasive essay" he wrote to get my mom to buy him a PS2 - He had my persuaded!) He's so good in school and I am so proud of him!
10) I love how he prays. From the time he was little, his prayers consist of "Thank you's". He thanks Heavenly Father for everything, including stuff he hasn't received yet. :) He's so close to the Spirit and is such an example to me.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY (late) Squirt! I love love LOVE you!!!
Love, Squirt :)
